Gyotaku Fish Print Bag- Perch
Gyotaku is a Japanese technique for printing fish. In the late 1800’s, Japanese fishermen would take a fish from the days catch, ink the fish to make a print, and hang it up at the market as an advertisement of their day’s catch. Now it is considered an art form. This is a Perch that we caught in Michigan. It’s printed on a zippered canvas bag that measures 9×10-inches. The fish measures 7-inches.
