Gyotaku Fish Print-Bluegill
Gyotaku is a Japanese technique for printing fish. In the late 1800’s, Japanese fishermen would take a fish from the days catch, ink the fish to make a print, and hang it up at market as an advertisement of their day’s catch. Now it is considered an art form. This is a Bluegill fish that we caught in Michigan, printed on 18×27-inch rice paper. Each Bluegill measures 10-inches.
